Interpublic's Properties Group Signs Fandango.com

The Properties Group, a wholly owned subsidiary of advertising agency holding firm Interpublic Group of Companies Inc., has signed movie ticketing company fandango.com as a partner.


Through the deal, Fandango has developed a new ticketing procedure that will allow the online download of movie ticket certificates.


Via this alliance, marketers will have access to movie ticket inventory to more than 7,000 screens owned by the seven theater-owning exhibitors that Fandango has deals with. Movie Cash certificates offer consumers a reduced price or free movie tickets as part of sponsored promotional campaigns.


For example, a consumer buying a coded bottle of soda or box of cereal can go online to fandango, print the Movie Cash ticket and get a seat at a participating theater. In its eight years, Properties has distributed promotional movie tickets for more than 500 brands.


"This is meant to help marketers or brands who cannot deliver a certificate-based reward within their packaging or who want to provide instant gratification to their customers," said Neil Solomon, managing director of Properties, New York.
