Fingerhut Increases Stake in Handtech.com

Direct marketer Fingerhut, Minneapolis, increased its investment in Handtech.com, a Web-based direct marketer of computer products, to 28.1 percent, from the initial 19.9 percent stake the company acquired earlier this year.


Handtech.com, Austin, TX, recently began marketing to Fingerhut's database, both to sell products and to recruit technology consultants. Handtech also offers a branded credit card through Fingerhut's banking affiliate, Axsys National Bank.


In addition, Handtech.com named Andrew Johnson, the head of Fingerhut's e-commerce division, to its board of directors.
