Digitas to Handle Interactive Effort for FedEx

FedEx Corp. has named Digitas Inc. interactive agency of record.


The Boston agency will design and implement an online marketing campaign to boost demand for FedEx's overnight and ground delivery services. The campaign will support direct mail and telemarketing efforts already in place by Digitas for FedEx, Memphis, TN.


"We're working with FedEx strategically across all of its business units and extending the manner in which FedEx uses the Internet to interact with customers," said Maureen Bailey, senior vice president of communications at Digitas.


Digitas' previous work for FedEx included digital strategy and enterprise customer relationship management.


Posting revenue of $187 million in 1999 and $208.7 million for the nine months in this calendar year, Digitas boasts clients such as Ann Taylor, Neiman Marcus, L.L.Bean, General Motors Corp. and Morgan Stanley Dean Witter.
