Del Monte Taps Agency.com as Interactive AOR

Del Monte Food Co. named Agency.com, San Francisco, as its interactive agency of record to strengthen relationships with consumers. The Omnicom Group Inc.-owned agency will offer Web site development, online marketing and digital strategy for 20 Del Monte food brands including Del Monte, StarKist, College Inn, 9Lives, Kibbles 'n Bits and Pup-Peroni.


Agency.com will work with other Del Monte general agencies to offer an integrated marketing message to consumers. Del Monte considers the Internet a platform to communicate with consumers, reinforce brand messages and push traffic to individual brand Web sites.


Meanwhile, David Eastman has been named worldwide CEO of Agency.com, New York. He was managing director of Agency.com in London. Dave Johnson was appointed president of Agency.com North America, a step up from managing partner at the agency's Chicago office. Agency.com cofounder Chan Suh retains his title of chairman.
