Cossette Post Buys Tarsitano Creative
The acquisition is Cossette's second in New York after the August 2001 buy of what is now the Cossette Post ad agency. Terms were not disclosed, though it is a mix of cash closing payment and future compensation based on Tarsitano's financial performance over three years.
Founded 17 years ago, Tarsitano offers services like direct response television and radio, direct mail and interactive marketing. Clients include MasterCard International, Columbia House, Gateway Learning and Quicken Loans.
The agency will be renamed Cossette Tarsitano. It will support Cossette Post and Blitz Direct Data & Promotion, Montreal-based Cossette Communication's direct marketing arm.
Cossette Communication serves clients like General Motors of Canada, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Molson Breweries, Bell Canada and KeySpan. Gross income last year at the 31-year-old agency holding company was $157.7 million.
