BrabenderCox to Split Into 2 Companies

BrabenderCox Direct Inc. Friday said it plans to reorganize its business units and ownership into two new companies.

The Pittsburgh-based advertising company will split into a new marketing firm called Adams Marketing Group Inc. and a political and public affairs consulting business called BrabenderCox Mihalke.

The marketing company's clients will include General Nutrition Centers, Wal-Mart, the Pittsburgh Penguins, the United Way and Penn Power.

The new consulting firm's clients will include Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Ridge, U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum and Attorney General Mike Fisher. The firm also will continue its public affairs work for the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Pittsburgh Steelers, Wal-Mart and Highmark Blue Cross.

Adams Marketing's ownership consists of principals Jim Cox, chairman, and John Verbanac, president. BrabenderCox Mihalke is owned and operated by John Brabender, president, and Mike Mihalke, vice president.

Cox and Brabender were co-founders of BrabenderCox, and Verbanac was the company's executive vice president.
