Black Experience Becomes BX Media

Black Experience Inc., known for its ethnic marketing services, changed its name and broadened its business beyond the black and Hispanic markets.


The Delray Beach, FL, company now goes by the BX Media Group Inc. name for the holding company. Black Experience becomes its multicultural database division.


"It's primarily because the services we were offering our clients started to go beyond ethnic and affinity groups," said Melvin Wilson, New York-based chief strategy officer of BX Media, owned 30 percent by credit bureau Equifax Inc.


BX Media will offer services like marketing and creative development, consulting, design, consumer research and media. BX Media owns and manages a mail file of 28 million general market consumers. It also has access to Equifax's database.


Clients include Snapple Beverage Group's Mystic Beverages, BellSouth Corp., Heineken and BMW.
