Advantage Business Research partnered with iion Corp. to tap each firm's expertise for their clients.


Iion will use Advantage's analysis, reporting, presentation and marketing skills in return for the latest online survey applications and improved technology. Both firms are based in San Diego.


Advantage is a full-service market and media research firm with mostly business-to-business clients. The roster includes McGraw-Hill Cos., Crain Communications Inc., CMP Media, PennWell Publishing, Automobile Association of America and Ziff-Davis Media.


Iion's specialty is creating online survey applications, data mining software and loyalty programs in addition to hosting opinion research panels for consumer-facing clients like AOL, Sony and ESPN.


The strategic alliance comes a year after Advantage formed a similar partnership with Dimark Research, a 75-seat call center in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
