Agencies Part as Cronin/Wallwork Curry Breaks

Cronin/Wallwork Curry will become history three years after Wallwork & Curry, Boston, was made a division of Cronin and Co. Inc., a Glastonbury, CT, agency.

After July 1, Wallwork & Curry will regain its independent status, working exclusively on clients like Sun Life Financial, coffee systems maker Keurig and Steinway & Sons. However, it will share with Cronin clients like Bertucci's restaurants and Digital Federal Credit Union for online, direct and public relations work.

"Like a lot of people in our situation, Bob Curry and I just missed having the same control over our own destinies," Jack Wallwork, Wallwork & Curry co-founder, said in a statement.

Both agencies will pitch for business separately once they are officially unbundled.

The 56-year-old Cronin is a full-service shop run by Bill Cronin and his brothers-in-law John Riccio and Mike Wheeler. The agency's capitalized billings are estimated at more than $65 million from clients like Konica Minolta, McDonald's Corp., Connecticut Lottery and Vytra Healthcare.
