Social networking firm Affinity Circles Inc. and e-mail marketing firm Real Magnet have teamed up to incorporate and co-market both firms.

Beginning in June, Affinity Circles' social networking customers will have access to Real Magnet's e-mail capabilities. Real Magnet's clients will in turn be able to integrate with Affinity Circles' social-networking platform.

"Social networking and e-mail are the dominant forms of online communication and the integration of the two is a logical next step," said Tom Pines, president of Real Magnet, Bethesda, MD.

Through the partnership with Real Magnet, Affinity Circles networks will also have access to RSS, fax messaging, surveys, forms and event-management capabilities.

"We are extending our platform to incorporate the products and services our customers need most to drive engagement and build dynamic online communities," said Steve Loughlin, president/CEO of Affinity Circles, Mountain View, CA.
