NEW YORK - Adobe software is preparing for a pan-European launch from its base in Edinburgh, Scotland, with WAAV Rapp Collins, a global DM agency, handling the marketing end.

The company is tight-lipped about the launch and has told the agency not to discuss details, but it is understood that the launch will be a major cross-border effort.

WAAV, which specializes in taking US DM companies into Europe, reports it has more than half a dozen "outstanding proposals" out to potential clients and is waiting to hear back from catalogers, charities and financial services.

A very large financial services company is only waiting for approval from the Bank of England to set up in the UK without a physical presence before going ahead with WAAV, a knowledgeable source said.

A second financial services firm plans to hit the BTB side of the UK market, the source added, to start a business loan operation there.

Finally, a "very, very large" cataloger has "put everything together in is just waiting to start." A January launch is likely, the source said.
