Acxiom Teams with SAP For CRM

During SAP's annual summer sales meeting this week, Acxiom company leader Charles D. Morgan and Bill McDermott, president/CEO of SAP Americas, said the two companies intend to jointly market Acxiom's services within SAP's multichannel customer relationship management solution, mySAP Customer Relationship Management.

According to the companies, SAP clients and prospects will be able to use Little Rock, AR-based Acxiom's AbiliTec customer data integration technology and InfoBase products, which provide the largest collection of U.S. consumer information available in one source. By combining Acxiom's consumer content with Newtown Square, PA-based SAP's world-class marketing and sales functionality, customers will be able to maximize their marketing and sales dollars while strengthening their most valuable asset -- the relationship with their customers, according to both companies.

The leaders also revealed their intention to jointly market SAP's ability to deliver enterprisewide customer information to key customer touch points and Acxiom's 30-plus years of delivering data, analytics and customer data integration.

Meanwhile, on July 26, Acxiom announced first quarter results for the period ending June 30, posting earnings that rose from the prior year on higher revenues.

The company said net profits more than doubled to $17.81 million from $6.62 million in the year-ago quarter. Total revenue increased 8.5 percent to $336.71 million from $310.27 million in the year-ago period, surpassing the Wall Streets view of $332.55 million.

Acxiom's services segment generated revenues of $261.89 million, up from $238.50 million in the previous year. Revenues from that segment were $74.81 million, up from $71.77 million last year.

The company also said it signed new contracts with General Motors Corporation; AutoNation Inc.; Unilever; Yellow Book USA; AccuData and Southern Progress Corporation.
