Acxiom Buys MarketsOnDemand

Acxiom Corp. confirmed yesterday that it purchased Toplander Corp., whose main business unit is MarketsOnDemand, a provider of Internet-derived, permission-based direct marketing data solutions.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The deal was effective Nov. 26, Acxiom spokesman Dale Ingram said. Toplander will be integrated into Acxiom, the Little Rock, AR-based customer and information management solutions provider, and its 19 employees are now part of Acxiom.

MarketsOnDemand's consumer marketing database, CoreBase, includes e-mail and postal addresses as well as telephone numbers. It is derived online from opt-in consumer site registrations. CoreBase has more than 40 million names.
