Ace Hardware Buys Teradata CRM Suite

Ace Hardware Corp., the nation's largest cooperative of independently owned and operated hardware retailers, announced the purchase yesterday of the customer relationship management suite from Teradata, a division of NCR Corp., Dayton, OH.

Ace Hardware, Oak Brook, IL, has annual retail sales exceeding $13 billion from its 4,800 hardware, home center and lumber and building materials retailers. Ace operates 15 distribution centers in the United States and has stores in all 50 states and 70 countries.

Teradata's solution, which includes campaign and promotion management and analytics and communications applications, begins implementation this month and is to be completed by the third quarter.

Ace has operated a Teradata Warehouse for four years and uses the system to drive its customer loyalty program, the Helpful Hardware Club.

The co-op wants to automate marketing processes while increasing the number of campaigns it can execute, raising their sophistication, improving analytics and leveraging customer information across the enterprise.
