Accent Marketing Services to double its workforce

MDC Partners subsidiary Accent Marketing Services will add an additional 2,000 workers within the next two years. The move is part of the new jobs4america initiative, which is a coalition designed to generate American contact center jobs.

The expansion will double the size of the integrated marketing services company.

The new employees will facilitate inbound and outbound calls, brand monitoring on Twitter, inbound and outbound live chat, text messaging, videoconferencing and other contact center communications.

“Our clients and prospects were demanding we put more people in the field,” said Accent CEO Tim Searcy. “The labor demand has come in good time.”

On March 1 of next year, 175 new employees will join Accent's planned 43,000-square-foot facility in Jeffersonville, Ind. The facility will ultimately be occupied by roughly 675 workers, including 500 from Accent's New Albany, Ind., facility. An additional 500 employees will be positioned across Accent's seven other locations, while 1,000 new employees will work remotely.

“There's no good reason to have the labor migrate from their homes to the office,” said Searcy. “We're a 24/7 business. Having the flexibility to have people work from home really helps us. At-home agents gives us liquid capacity.”

Searcy joined Accent in January, following the company's reported fiscal 2010 US revenue decline of 21% to $85.8 million year-over-year. In June, Searcy told Direct Marketing News that he would increase staff.
