Abacus' BtoB Alliance Increases

Abacus is expected to announce today that its BtoB Alliance database has grown 55 percent from the second to third quarter, with a total of 44 million business contacts now on file. The announcement will be made at the Direct Marketing Association's 84th Annual Conference & Exhibition.

According to Abacus, its business-to-business database -- which is made up of small, medium and large-size businesses from categories such as cars, stationery, office supplies and computer equipment -- now features more than 850 million business transactions totaling more than $80 billion in purchases. Thirty-three members joined the BtoB Alliance during the third quarter, according to Abacus, helping to grow the active database of businesses with recent business purchases.

Abacus said database enhancements offering more flexible data processing rules for members have contributed to the growth of the database.
