ABA Works Online to Boost E-Commerce

The American Bankers Association, Washington, has launched a new subsidiary called ABAecom (www.abaecom.com) to promote e-commerce activity. Through ABAecom, the group plans to serve as a "trusted third party" for the financial services industry and focus on helping banks build stronger relationships with their customers and increase consumer use of their online products by using digital certificates.


To provide secure communication and transactions, these certificates will function as ID cards in vouching for the identity of an individual or business taking part in an online communication or transaction.
