On the heels of its recession-mood busting “Yes, Pecan” ice cream campaign, Ben & Jerry’s is at it again with its eCONEomic relief plan.

Joining the ranks of several other food retailers offering consumers an empathetic break, the ice cream retailer is urging consumers to get their cans in for a cone. The company is offering a scoop for a buck today at participating stores, but to get the promotion, consumers also must donate a non-perishable food item. The food items will go to help local food banks, also hurting in this tough economy.
