Television satellite provider DirecTV and TiVo have extended their current non-exclusive partnership to include the development of a new, high definition DirecTV digital video recorder (DVR). The two companies also extended their mutual intellectual property agreements. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Yahoo OneSearch is now the default mobile search engine on AT&T's MEdia Net portal. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Bruce Stewart, VP and GM of Yahoo's Connected Life Americas, said the companies were focused on two major areas for expansion.

The Federal Trade Commission today issued its final Telemarketing Sales Rule (TSR) amendments regarding prerecorded calls. Two TSR amendments were passed - one will ban calls that deliver prerecorded messages unless the consumer has first agreed, with written consent, to receive calls.

Printer Quad/Graphics laid off 100 of its employees on August 13. The employees were primarily based in the Sussex, WI, plant and mostly in administrative positions, though manager of corporate communications, Claire Ho, said some were in production support positions.
