The Federal Trade Commission today issued its final Telemarketing Sales Rule (TSR) amendments regarding prerecorded calls. Two TSR amendments were passed - one will ban calls that deliver prerecorded messages unless the consumer has first agreed, with written consent, to receive calls.

Portland, OR-based response-driven ad agency R2C Group has acquired media firm Chautauqua Communications, LLC. This venture will expand R2C Group's services by adding online creative and media buying to its list of services. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but CEO of R2C Group, Tim O'Leary, said it was a cash deal.

At Yahoo's annual meeting of stockholders, its board of directors appointed Carl Icahn to fill the seat vacated by Robert Kotick. Kotick's resignation from the board became effective immediately following the annual meeting. Additionally, the board voted to increase the number of seats from 9 to 11, leaving two seats open.
