To further promote FedEx's NASCAR sponsorship and drum up excitement for the Chase for the Sprint Cup, BBDO placed voice-enabled devices in 700 FedEx dropboxes throughout the southeast US. The effort is a complement to a FedEx digital campaign that was already under way.
Vaseline "Prescribe the Nation" by Ogilvy
To promote the launch of its Vaseline Clinical Therapy skin cream, Unilever turned to Ogilvy for a viral campaign that would demonstrate the power of the product in a grassroots, hands-on way. In the year since the viral campaign "Prescribe the Nation" began in Kodiak, AK, over 3 million prescriptions have been given from customer to customer.

ALS Association names Grizzard AOR to raise donor engagement

The ALS Association has chosen Grizzard as its agency of record. The agency is focusing on increasing both the size of the organization's donor base and the level of donor support. The nonprofit's previous efforts were limited to direct mail renewal programs used in conjunction with e-mail campaigns.
Kinsella named Digitas' North America president

Colin Kinsella, currently the chief innovation officer at Razorfish, was appointed president for North America at Digitas, effective January 1, 2010. Both agencies are owned by Publicis Groupe. He will oversee the company's North American operations and report directly to Laura Lang, CEO.

Extrovertic and Virilion announced a joint venture on October 28, called EV Healthcare, to help healthcare companies implement digital and social media marketing campaigns. The service, based in New York, has just begun marketing to prospective clients, said Pfizer veteran Dorothy Wetzel, co-founder and executive marketer at Extrovertic.

Digital engagement agency Fanscape created a Twitter campaign for Japanese anime show Naruto. Fanscape set up a week-long contest in which more than 3,400 Twitter users collected answers to clues issued by Tweet-A-Prize.

Jung von Matt/Neckar, a German ad agency, created buzz for publisher Eichborn at the Frankfurt Book Fair this month. The agency outfitted 200 flies with banner ads to promote their exhibition booth at the show. What do you call that? A "fly circus?"

After hitting some of the overlapping parties and events Sunday night during the DMA's annual conference - Xerox's rooftop networking event and the DM Buzz party at the Hard Rock Hotel's Club 207 - I wandered back to my hotel room to find a door hanger ad from iContact hanging on my door.
