Denuo launches Alchemy, a new practice

With a goal of crafting "media sensible" communications, Publicis agency Denuo has launched a new practice called Alchemy. "Alchemy isn't a unit or division, it's really a practice within the group we've now formalized," said Saneel Radia, VP and alchemist at Denuo.

Portland, OR-based response-driven ad agency R2C Group has acquired media firm Chautauqua Communications, LLC. This venture will expand R2C Group's services by adding online creative and media buying to its list of services. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but CEO of R2C Group, Tim O'Leary, said it was a cash deal.
 

Convio withdraws IPO, posts strong Q2

Nonprofit CRM provider Convio has withdrawn its proposed initial public offering, nearly a year after it first registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission. "Good companies don't need to go public in bad markets," said Tad Druart, a spokesman for Convio, who said that the company filed the paperwork to withdraw its IPO registration on Tuesday morning.
 

Interpublic Group acquires stake in Huge

The Interpublic Group has reached an agreement to acquire a majority interest in interactive agency Huge. The shop has had clients such as IKEA, JetBlue, NutriSystem, Scholastic and The Warner Music Group. "Marketing services in the interactive space has evolved well beyond site development and interface design," said Michael Roth, Interpublic chairman and CEO, in a statement.
 

LasikPlus taps Quigley-Simpson as AOR
