800.com Gets Link at Reel.com

800.com Inc. yesterday said it signed a marketing deal with Hollywood Entertainment Corp., which owns 1,800 video rental stores and Reel.com.

The deal gives 800.com, a site that offers 300,000 movie and music titles as well as electronics products, a link on Reel.com's home page. 800.com will handle transactions and fulfill orders made via Reel.com, and Hollywood will get a commission on sales generated through the orders.

The partnership between the Portland, OR, firms is being promoted online and in Hollywood's stores. In one promotion, new 800.com customers will save $5 on movie orders of $50 or more and receive a free-rental coupon for Hollywood video stores with their orders.
