2 Southeast Agencies Merge

In a merger of Southeastern agencies, Newman Saylor & Gregory will combine with Chernoff/Silver & Associates to launch a new firm with 70 employees generating annual capitalized billings of $70 million.


As CNSG, the new agency will offer advertising, marketing services and public relations. Staff from the parent shops will not be laid off.


The merged agency will boast clients like Shell Oil Co. in Houston; National Bank of South Carolina in Columbia, SC; Dayton Power and Light in Dayton, OH; Avanex in Fremont, CA; McArthur & T.G. Lee Dairies in Florida and The South Carolina Education Lottery.


Newman Saylor & Gregory was founded in 1970 and Chernoff/Silver in 1974. Marvin Chernoff, Ralph Gregory and Van Newman will remain as advisers after the merger.


CNSG will have its head office at Newman Saylor & Gregory's current headquarters in Columbia, SC, with outposts in Palo Alto, CA; Orlando, FL; and Hilton Head, SC.
