Florist 1-800-Flowers.com Inc. and American Greetings Corp.'s AmericanGreetings.com arm have joined hands to offer complementary services on their sites, it was announced yesterday.

With the deal, Westbury, NY-based 1-800-Flowers.com will become the exclusive floral provider on AmericanGreetings.com, BlueMountain.com and Egreetings.com.

In return, Cleveland-based AmericanGreetings.com will become a greetings provider to 1-800-Flowers.com. Consumers on 1-800-Flowers.com will be able to access content, send free online cards, buy or sign up for online greetings subscriptions from AmericanGreetings.com.

The florist's link will be in the gift center area of AmericanGreetings.com and BlueMountain.com and in the gift shop of Egreetings.com.

AmericanGreetings.com offerings will be on a co-branded page that is accessed by clicking on the "Send a Greeting" link on 1-800-Flowers.com's home page.

Both brands will share revenue borne out of that relationship. They will promote the alliance through traditional and interactive marketing tactics.
